glob

Welcome to the glob!

I named this “glob” because it serves as a depository for a diversity of topics. It’s a big glob of goodies you can pick through to find meaningful, relevant information for your own life.

In the glob you will find business advice, leadership insights, energy increasers, inventions, diagrams, communication tips, new perspectives, and other various and sundry morsels.

Some glob posts will also have an “Experiment”, which is the glob equivalent to the homework I give clients. Experiments are ways for you to get out of your head and into the real world. Otherwise it’s all just theory and conjecture, yes?

The glob will evolve as things do so please visit often, share your thoughts, ask questions, and, if you are so inclined, let us all know how an experiment goes if you choose to do one.

Purpose: Success is the only option

9 March, 2009 (22:57) | business, connection, effectiveness, glob, purpose | By: sadee

When you connect to your purpose, “try” is not an option. Neither is failure.
It is crucial to understand that when you find your purpose it is always much bigger than you are. Always. It can feel daunting, even impossible, to imagine living your purpose. And this is precisely why people ask “Can I really do [...]

A BodyMind look at Laryngitis

7 March, 2009 (15:56) | bodymind integration, glob, vitality | By: sadee

I posted a status update on Facebook that I had laryngitis and a fever. I got some interesting responses with someone asking “isn’t that a symptom of not saying something that needs to be said?”
The person who asked is a very intuitive man who has a great eye for body language. He is interested in [...]

You have energy to survive but do you have energy to thrive?

6 March, 2009 (07:44) | glob | By: sadee

One of the biggest things that bothers me is the current assumption that the body and the mind are separate. This assumption not only makes things unnecessarily difficult, but it is intensely energy depleting.
It also makes us very bobble-headed. You know bobble-heads? The little figures with gargantuan craniums and comparatively tiny bodies? Those perfectly symbolize our society. [...]

50% of Chief Executives “intensely lonely”

3 March, 2009 (01:50) | business, connection, effectiveness, entrepreneurs, executive, glob | By: sadee

This is an excerpt from an article in the Economist :
Around 50% of the chief executives interviewed said they found the job “intensely lonely” and did not know who to turn to for advice. A common response was, “I can’t talk to the chairman because in the end he’s the one who is going to fire [...]

Finding your purpose sounds great but…

1 March, 2009 (02:25) | business, entrepreneurs, executive, glob, purpose | By: sadee

it can be terrifying.
Case in point:
I recently worked with a very successful business woman. She is self-assured, dimensional, intelligent, highly educated, and worldly. In our first session we got to the very core of why she is on this earth - of what her purpose is.
Do you know what happened in the days and weeks that [...]

Don’t waste your time pursuing multiple streams of revenue if you don’t already have a good primary source of revenue

27 February, 2009 (02:27) | business, effectiveness, entrepreneurs, executive, glob | By: sadee

Are you really ready for Multiple Streams of Income?

I just had an interesting email exchange with biznik business writer Joseph Riden. He sent a quote I’d like to share and build on.
“Don’t waste your time pursuing multiple streams of revenue if you don’t already have a good primary source of revenue. Too many people want [...]

Being afraid of the dark

25 February, 2009 (05:15) | connection, effectiveness, glob | By: sadee

I cannot tell you how many people I have worked with who hold themselves back because they are afraid of what they “might” be in extreme situations.
How can you be afraid of yourself? Its you! Well, it’s easy to be afraid of your imagination of yourself when you don’t really know who you are.
Here’s the [...]

Stop solving problems

17 February, 2009 (12:47) | effectiveness, glob | By: sadee

I’m always perplexed by the love of problem-solving.
I admit, it’s addicting in a way. I mean, who doesn’t love coming up with a solution to a problem? But from girlfriend advice to team dynamics we seem stuck on just one approach.
Problem solving is something that is usually built on the thing that came before it - a solution [...]

“Personal Growth” is a wild goose chase

1 February, 2009 (19:09) | connection, effectiveness, glob, purpose | By: sadee

The notion of personal growth is almost always one that is based on an internal process that happens in isolation or, at best, with another person or in a private setting, away from the real world.
